I'm not sure it's possible for Chass to come off as more of a dickhead.

And unless I glanced past it, which is entirely possible given the article's length and meandering tone, Chass never quite gets around to what the Times' agenda is, other than mentioning an overheard remark from 20 years ago about how Joe Sexton didn't like Jeff Torborg.
