Most Ridiculous, Awesome Excuses to Get out of Work

After reading the posts on idiot coworkers, I had to bring up the best excuses to get out of work. A few years ago, when I worked in radio (dear God), I had a coworker call out of work who was notorious for ridiculous excuses. He was always sick; a forest fire was mentioned once, a dead swan in his neighborhood was mentioned once, but this was his zenith...he called in (while I was with my boss in his office at 8:30am) and said that he was at the vet. And they were doing bloodwork on his sick cat. And the vet accidentally injected, poked my coworker, whatever, with the needle she had just used on the cat. And my coworker said he had to go to the hospital right away to "test" him for feline AIDS. He was fired about a month later.
