One night about 10 years ago, my wife calls me at work. She's laughing so hard, she can't even tell me why she called. Then, she reads -- or should I say "tries to read" -- the moon landing story.

She gets about six words out before breaking out in hysterical laughter so intense she was gasping for air. She couldn't even finish reading it before she had to go catch her breath.

In 17 1/2 years of marriage and three years of dating, I've never seen her laugh this hard at anything. And we've seen many A-list comedians live.

I loved the "Very Special Forces" article with a pic of a man with Downs syndrome in fatigues, the column headlined, "Women: Why don't they lose some weight?" and an article headlined, "So these dudes come flying out of nowhere and start whaling on this guy."

To me, the absolute highlight is the headline for Dec. 7, 1941.

It reads "Wa-" (headline continued on page XX).

I laughed and laughed when I saw it, spent 10 minutes explaining the joke to my girlfriend once I recovered, then started laughing again. I don't think that's why she broke up with me a week later, but screw it. It's a great page in a great book of humor.

The headline for man walking on the moon was great, too.

Bunch of friends got another a shirt with the moon-landing story printed on it during college.
Dude was severely wasted, and although the story was hilarious, watching him trying to crank that out was even better. He was half-laughing, half spitting up beer while he read it at the 'Berg. One of the few times in life I seriously thought was was going to wet myself with laughter.
