Oh, it's necessary. If they were OK with somebody with less experience getting this job, they've got an excellent kid on staff who's done some columns. They want somebody with experience. Rial was an APSE winning columnist, not some schmuck off the street.

I did some freelance work for Bob a few years ago and was very good to work with.
 
I was in Missoula in the fall and loved it, despite the blizzard. I can see someone deciding that life is what counts and leaving a bigger market for this one.

I've known Bill for quite a while. He's a great guy who does great work. Congrats.
