Between the fiasco with the women's tournament, the NCAA figuring out how to implement players marketing themselves and COVID financial fallout, not sure the org is in a good place for a transition - it's somewhere between a grease fire and a dumpster fire. You kind of want to see how things progress over the next year before you really know what kind of shape you are in and what the next hire needs to be.
The Pac-12 is in the midst of a commissioner search and they still haven't figured out what they want the commissioner to be - campus glad-hander, TV power player, - they are actually thinking of splitting it into two jobs (which is just another reason most name candidates have dropped out). In some ways Larry Scott wasn't the problem, he was the product of the problem. What they need is a NAME that will bring the conference instant credibility with networks and fans, particularly in football.

Pac-12 splitting it into two jobs is about the best way I can think of to make things worse.
