Shame to hear this. She came on board my ship during Desert Shield in 1990 and was smoking hot then. Sixteen years later, eh. But then again, who among us looks as good now as we did 16 years ago?

A bad reaction to medication, apparently.

The National Enquirer reported in its Aug. 14 edition that Osmond's hospitalization was the result of a failed suicide attempt.

"We deal with those tabloids all the time," said Karl Engemann, Osmond's manager. "You get tired of responding. It's like punching Jell-O."

Osmond has battled severe post-partum depression for years and written a book about it. So the spin might need to be taken with a grain of salt.
