Uh .... MacGruber movie?

Don't kill me. I actually kinda, sorta chuckle at some of the MacGruber sketches.

I would not go see this movie if they paid me.

I actually find MacGruber pretty amusing in 10-second bites, but this is just a horrendous idea. What's the worst SNL-based movie ever? Superstar? Night At The Roxbury?

There have been some famously bad SNL-inspired flicks.

This will make them look like Oscar winners.

The first few times MacGruber came on, I chuckled. Now when it's a regular bit, I will maybe chuckle the first time. This will be an epic fail if things move forward. I just don't understand why Lorne Michaels (or another producer, for that matter) would want to take the reigns on this one.

MacGruber reminds me, to use a newspaper analogy, of that columnist gimmick or long-running feature that your editor loves but everyone else in the newsroom mocks.

Someone important at SNL must love this skit; can't see many else agreeing.

As for worst SNL-based movie, Stuart Saves His Family and It's Pat are well out in front of the field.

A Night at the Roxbury?!? You bite your tongue!

I watched It's Pat whenever it came out on VHS in 95ish. I remember nothing about that movie except it wasn't funny and I think there's a guy who follows him/her around and spends the final act of the movie trying to initiate sex. Could be making that all up.

Maybe it could have a Looney Tunes feel to it, where the movie is simply a series of MacGruber deaths, ala Wile E. Coyote.

Still... FAIL.
