Luke Kennard the lastest in a long line?

So what's the lineage? Let me know if I'm forgetting anyone.

Laettner
Hurley
Collins
Wojo
Redick
Scheyer (probably a stretch)
Allen
Kennard (not there yet)

It's funny that the one who has redeemed himself the most since his Duke days is Redick, who is probably the second-most hated guy on that list behind Laettner.

Luke Kennard? Did Grayson Allen die or something? Not that many people would be very sad about that.

Not a stretch. Everyone hated the Scheyer face.

If ESPN ever wants to (chortle) win back some respect, it can start by declining halftime interviews with Duke assistants. If the big man doesn't want to talk, then they can do without. We'll give Roy or Buzz or Jim or whoever double airtime.

Somewhere there's a poster out there with "How Bout Deez Nuts?" written on a picture of that dunk

I was there for that game. Ridiculous

Paulus! I knew I was forgetting someone.

And while Mason Plumlee is an asshole, the "most hated Dookies" list is a guard's list, for the most part. Laettner is the obvious exception, but he's the original, the GOAT of the bunch.

Plus, we have standards here. Mason Plumlee was a good player and has carved out a good pro career, but in terms of the hate of the college basketball zeitgeist, he is not on the level of the rest of those players. You let Plumlee in, you have to take a long look at Greg Newton. From there, it's a slippery slope to Cherokee Parks and Brian Zoubek.

Does Cherokee Parks fit in there somewhere?

Also, it should be said that while Marshall Plumlee is the least objectionable of the Plumlees by a wide margin, both because of his lack of talent and his military commitment, he has given some of that back by having a wholly undeserved NBA career.

ESPN needs an exec with the stones to tell K that their network made college basketball what it is today, or else he'd still be coaching in Saturday doubleheaders on J-P for his TV time. The whole Dookies-Cameron Crazies aura was started on ESPN and Dicky V carried the water. K is an ungrateful piece of **** for this slap in the face and this is coming from someone who has no love lost for the WWL.

Kennard arrived as a WDPLTH (White Dookie People Love To Hate) against the Gators on Tuesday. Allen's been hurt.

I'd throw in Danny Ferry as the originator, but Laettner perfected it. Chris Collins is a pud too.
I think that's the correct place to begin the line. Bilas, Alarie and Gminski played in an era before Duke hate was DUKE HATE.
