Can I ask why?

While everyone else in that story seems to be sad Shea is going, Jeff can't wait for it to get torn down so they can move into their shiny new stadium.

That's the way it comes across to me, at least.

And...he's a businessman. I'd rather them raze it in one day so I don't pay people to do it for three months too.

Jesus. He doesn't owe everyone the opportunity to come in and take a piece of the park.

As a Mets fan since their inception, I'm not at all sad to see Shea go.

Funny how the dickhead who has been calling Shea a dump for a few years suddenly is nostalgic for the place because "L'il Jeffy" says the place is a dump.

I, too, think it's odd. But I think as bad as some places are, I think as it comes to an end there comes a "Yeah, it was a dump. But it was our dump," sentiment that starts to grow.

Hell, that might happen to Tropicana Field if and when the Rays get a new stadium approved.

I know, GB. It happened in Cleveland with Municipal Stadium. What a ****hole that place was.

But you can't fault an owner who already has a new place next door trying to make sure **** gets done. The seats have been on sale for months, and they've barely sold half. It's not like nostalgia is running rampant.

Wow, really? Are they going as overboard as the Yankees on prices, hence the lack of sales?

Or are they waiting for a real bullpen to be assembled?

More Shea seats have been sold than Yanke Stadium seats.

The "auction" of Yankee Stadium memoribilia last weekend was an absolute bust.
If these greedy ****s (Wilpons and Steinbrenners) would just tear down the old places and STFU, everybody would be happy to go to the new stadiums next year, despite the insane prices the greedy ****s are charging.

From BYH's lame story:

Already 10,000 of 16,000 pairs of its seats have sold for $869 each.

I would have bought a pair for spnited for his 600th birthday next year, but I'm broke.

Thanks for the thought, love, but anyone who spends $869 for two seats from any stadium is a moran.

Of course, Chipper Jones bought 4 from Shea ...making him a double moran.

I'm not nostalgic for the place, dickhead. But MILLIONS of Mets fans are. And lil' Jeffy is ****ting all over them. "I can't wait to raze the place where you saw your first game...the place where you threw up from eating too much ice cream...the place where you got your first hand job under a blanket from the weird girl with the braces from English class during the senior trip...the place where you puked from drinking too much...the place where you saw a grown man masturbate in the bullpen for the first time...the place where you had your first date with your wife...the place where you took your son to his first game...the place where you saw a grown man fall to his death as he tried to surf the escalator..."

Etc etc etc. It's one thing to WANT to tell the fans **** off, you can't afford our new place and I can't wait to knock down the only place you'd be able to afford a game...quite another to ****in vocalize them. At least lather up the bull****, like the Yankees.

Lest we forget that Chipper named his kid Shea. I don't know what that makes him, but I don't think it's too good.

Hey, if he continues to hit something like .330 at the new place, he can name his kids whatever he feels like. :D
