lead in artificial turf

These fields that have been popping up all over the country in the last decade have been a godsend to a lot of schools because they can get more use out of fewer fields. I remember when local schools started installing them en masse four or five years ago, a guy I work with expressed concern that maybe there might be some unforseen problems with the fields down the road. Maybe he's right.

Sounds like FUD from the horticultural industry.

Key factor: It's New Jersey. You expect chemical contamination there. :D

I figured it would be the rubber pellets that would get you. (I think they are made from ground-up tires.)

I actually saw a link to that the other day. Try a quick Google search for that and somewhere, a story in the past two weeks should pop up. (Sorry I can't be more specific - I don't remember the paper or where I got it.)
