It's not the meat, it's all the damn vinegar. I'm a go-with-the-flow kinda guy and don't argue with people about much, but I'll defend KC over Carolina in this one to the death. Texas and Memphis ain't bad, but KC is the best.
As somebody who once made the move from the Kansas City area to North Carolina, you don't know how much you are going to miss those Arthur Bryant's burnt ends until you can't get them anymore.
Depends on what he likes. If it's beef, KC is the choice. In North Carolina, ask for barbecue and you get something pork-based.
