Jet Blue

This will actually ramble across several thread lines, but:

Jet Blue is new to my neck of the woods and I flew it for the first time this week. Holy cow, unreal. Great prices, clean planes, actual customer service, Dunkin Donuts coffee *** and DirecTV/XM at every seat. My flight today coincided with the World Cup match so I actually watched it.

On that:

*Erik Wynalda (is that the name?) ripped Arena in post game. RIPPED him. Can't argue but I'm biased. I don't like Arena.

*The foul on Gooochie Woochie Ochie that led to the PK wasn't even a damn foul let alone a PK.

Still, Ghana looked to me to be the better team.

All this from a flight. Loving Jet Blue big time.

I've heard nothing but good things about Jet Blue. Never had a chance to ride it, though.

It's my favorite airline. I don't know why all planes don't have satellite TV. Some Jet Blue flights I've taken have actually been better than some first class flights on traditional airlines.

That said, the last Jet Blue flight I took a few months ago, I noticed the leg room was a little tighter. :(

I love JetBlue. Love, love, love, love, love it. Those TVs are a godsend when you are doing a coast-to-coast red eye. Only minor, gripe story about JetBlue was two years ago when I had to fly somewhere on a Sunday during football season. It was an unavoidable, but very important trip, scheduled for the worst time possible for what I was doing. I had the DirectTV in front of me... and no football. I spent a whole trip from NY to Cali getting ticker scores on ESPN News, but couldn't watch any games. It was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life.

It's great, especially on longer flights. Watching TV sure helps the time pass quicker, especially if you get a good game in there. I remember flying out to the Long Beach airport last year during the Little League World Series, I got to watch two full games and the flight went by in a snap.

OK, this is a dumb question, but does Jet Blue fly out of anywhere in the Northwest? My sister swears by them, but I've never seen them in my rather limited flying experience.

jetblue.com lists all the cities, I know it's expanding like crazy.

Wife and I are going to NYC later this summer. 340 roundup for both of us.

This trip was 140 roundup.

I've flown them to Oakland several times. Guess that isn't really the Northwest. Believe I flew them to Seattle once, too.

I've flown them to Oakland several times. Guess that isn't really the Northwest. Believe I flew them to Seattle once, too.

I just checked, and they do fly out of Seattle as well as Salt Lake and Denver. And I can get to all of those airports from here.

They sell ear bud headphones for a buck and my Shures were packed away because I'm an idiot. While the buck version is no Shure, I was stunned at the quality.

My company has started using AirTran a lot for our flying, and they have XM in every seat with free headsets. They're the hard ear buds, so I usually try to keep my big noise-cancelling stereo headphones in my carry-on, but they're not bad in a pinch.

I had the worst experience I have ever had with an airline on Airtran once. Flight back from Indianapolis and they lost my luggage. After a few days they found the luggage, but held it hostage for two weeks. For the life of me, I can't figure out what their problem was, but the thing that made my blood boil was this one guy I spoke to every day for a week about what was going on started to cop an attitude. I was really frustrated--but didn't yell or get abusive or anything. I am exceedingly polite--just vented my frustration in a "Why can't you get your act together?" sort of way. After about a week and a half of being told they had the luggage but couldn't return it to me (made no sense), I was befuddled, and the guy got snippy and lectured me about how he was doing me a favor by trying to help me and I wasn't being appreciative enough.

They better fly out of Salt Lake. The company is owned by them crazy Mormons.
Actually a public company, but the CEO and founder is Mormon and I went to college with his kid (who quit the football team when he was accepted to med school)

Love Jet Blue, no airline is a close second. If they fly to where you're going make them your first choice. I believe the frequent flier points are higher if you book directly on their website.

Once you fly cross country with TV, you'll never fly without it.

Jet Blue is a great airline. The other two I really like are Midwest and Frontier. Frontier is like Jet Blue in that is has satellite television.

Midwest has great customer service and big, wide leather seats on its "Signature Service" planes.

AirTran has lost my luggage every time I have flown them. And we are talking at least seven or eight times in the last few years. They are unbelievable.

The TVs didn't work on a flight that I took during the NFL playoffs (not a game I cared about).  They gave everyone a $100 voucher.  My flight cost $49.

I also like that they tell you the exact legroom of each row on the website.

I'm going on my first JetBlue flight at the end of next month, when they start service in my neck of the woods. Thanks to Moddy, I'm fired up!

AirTran, without a doubt, is the most uncomfortable airline I've ever flow on. The seat have no padding to speak of.

Unfortunately, I've never lived in a place where I could fly JetBlue, and it's not like I've lived in the sticks.
