His brother says yes, and that he has a 24-year-old daughter. He officially died 29 years ago.

This is weird even for him.

Maybe he was troubled by the horrible asp? (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

Bruce Lee ain't dead you know. They got him frozen in carbonite down under Chatsworth. They're gonna melt him down as soon as the economy gets better.

I was only about 15 years old when he "died", so I only remember him as the guy on Taxi and that ridiculous pro wrestling stuff he did.

Were things really at that level where he would need to fake his own death to get away from being Andy Kaufman? I'd think going to an island in the Caribbean and sitting on the beach sipping umbrella drinks the rest of his life would have been just as effective and a hell of a lot easier to pull off.

I have a feeling it's more likely he set up this stuff to keep a hoax going decades after he died than it is that he actually faked his death.

"Keeping his name out there."

He was a 21st-century thinker.

Here he comes to save the day...

There was never a better wrestling heel. Never.

There you have it. Trying to read the handwriting, it looks like the cause of death was (in order of onset):

5 months - primary bronchogenic carcinoma
4 months - metastic carcinoma
48 hours - renal failure

I am not sure if that one word is exactly "bronchogenic." Anyway, sounds like the primary was lung cancer.

I sure hope I go peacefully and not because of cancer. Cancer scares the crap out of me.

Kaufman is on a long list of dead celebrities who became a lot more famous when they died and probably would be barely remembered if they had lived.

To answer the subject - uh, no.
