Holiday deadlines

Our deadline was pushed up to 8:30 p.m. tonight. Just curious how other papers adjust their deadlines for the holidays.

I think we have a similar deadline because circulation needs extra time to stuff all the ads in. I'm off, so I don't know how early we have to go, but I know earlier in the week there were talks of an 8:30 or earlier deadline.

If you're working, you love an early deadline. But if you want the best section that has the night results, early deadlines stink.

8:45 here in Danville. Too bad the best prep basketball team in our region is the last of a triple-header at a high school. That story is going online only.

And only 3 pages... makes life easy to fill with some local copy and a ton of regional stuff.

We're a p.m. paper. We did our regular Wednesday edition this morning, then turned right around and had a 7 p.m. deadline for Thursday's paper. We get tomorrow off, then we're back at it bright and early on Friday morning.
