I hated Mary (yes) Schottenheimer with a passion, but I'd take him in a heartbeat to be rid of Herm Edwards. Cowher could return to his coaching roots -- he worked for Mary -- by taking over KC. I don't know if he's that great a coach, but a three-legged dog with no **** has got to be better than Herm.

He's overstayed his welcome and is, as JoePos so eloquently pointed out in yesterday's paper, completely unwilling to commit to anything that remotely resembles "rebuilding". Anyone wanna guess who the last QB was that the Chiefs actually drafted and allowed to start for the team?

I think the Packers and Broncos did a great job. They timed it perfectly, bringing their QB's up when the rest of the team was built for success.

By the time these young Chiefs are ready to roll in 2010, they'll still probably be trying to identify their QB of the future.
