Implosion is imminent. Good old Herm, it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy. I'll bet he's killing his QB's and coordinators in the hallway.

Chief fans are finding out what Jet fans already knew - Herm is a fraud.

I wonder if Whitlock is off the Edwards band wagon.

I hated Mary (yes) Schottenheimer with a passion, but I'd take him in a heartbeat to be rid of Herm Edwards. Cowher could return to his coaching roots -- he worked for Mary -- by taking over KC. I don't know if he's that great a coach, but a three-legged dog with no **** has got to be better than Herm.

King Carl, as Whitlock likes to refer to him, is the much bigger problem. He's overstayed his welcome and is, as JoePos so eloquently pointed out in yesterday's paper, completely unwilling to commit to anything that remotely resembles "rebuilding". Anyone wanna guess who the last QB was that the Chiefs actually drafted and allowed to start for the team?

Croyle?

Doesn't Herm have more job security than any coach in the AFC not named Belichick, Shanahan or Dungy? Maybe not long-term, but certainly for the next year or two. The Chiefs went into the season (maybe I'm wrong) openly willing to rebuild. They knew it'd be a tough, terrible season.

None of this should shock anybody, owner included.

It could be worse, it could be St. Louis with the worst offence and defence in the league.

steve fuller?

I think the Packers and Broncos did a great job. They timed it perfectly, bringing their QB's up when the rest of the team was built for success.

By the time these young Chiefs are ready to roll in 2010, they'll still probably be trying to identify their QB of the future.
