Anybody else watch that reality/scripted mystery show in maybe 1999? I can hardly remember anything about it, nor what it was called. The real people interacted with actors and got clues as they went, like a murder mystery theater thing. I remember the guy who won was a New York firefighter to went on to die on 9/11.

That was Murder in Small Town X, and it aired in '01 - the finale aired a week before Angel (the firefighter who won) was killed in the WTC attacks.

That was pretty good. Some ham-handed acting, and at times it seemed as if they were trying to do too much--was it Ten Little Indians meets April Fools Day meets Blair Witch meets Friday The 13th meets fill-in-the-blank romantic serial drama--but the beginning and the end were outstanding. Plus, the daughter of the sheriff is HOT in that dress.

I'll tune in next week.

And he was the only recognizable name, although I'm not positive I saw the entire cast list.

I knew exactly what to expect when the camera zoomed out on that shot, of course -- but I'm still a little surprised they showed it, even at 10:55 p.m. Then again, I'm not sure the murders were any more grisly than the preceding episode of CSI ...

Then again, as you noted, you can get away with more at 10 pm. Anyone here watch "Fear Itself," a horror anthology that NBC aired on (irony!) Thursdays at 10 pm last summer? Plenty of graphic **** in that one. Of course, NBC being NBC, it didn't air the last, like, seven episodes. Assholes. Hopefully CBS at least sees this one thru.

"Fear Itself" was cool while it lasted. Kind of like BYH.

From the TV commercials, it doesn't look like my kinda show.
But I saw one of the actors on a talk show a couple of weeks ago. It was interesting.
He said that the whole season has already been shot, so they are all done working. They hope the show is a success and will be picked up for a second season.
But if it is, there will be all different actors because all of the current actors will be dead.

I'm a sucker for shows set in Seattle but filmed in BC, but I hate movies set around weddings when everyone acts like a spaz. The key to shows like this is enjoying seeing some of the characters meet their end. On that point, I think the show is off to a promising start.

Thank you! Is this not "10 Little Indians"? That's exactly what I thought of when I saw the previews.

Forgot to DVR this, so I'll probably be checking it out online. Right up my alley.

My sis and I watched it on demand tonight. We were both surprised how graphic it was for network TV. I will definitely watch next week, although my Thursday night TiVo-ing is starting to get really crowded.

This has possibilities. I like shows that have a defined run, like a lot of British series. They seem more focused.

But if you'll allow me a Seattleite rant, the Vancouver-standing-in-for-Seattle thing is getting really old. I couldn't even count the number of TV shows and movies that have done it. Vancouver has done an awesome job of making shooting cheap and easy, and Seattle is the American city that looks most like it. I get that. But why can't **** ever just take place in Vancouver? Do they think U.S. audiences will think Canada is too exotic and they won't be able to relate?

Also, the cab that drops Abby off at the beginning says "(so-and-so) Cab, Seattle Washingtion" on the side (which is displayed pominently as the cab pulls up.) First of all, what local cab company in a major city spells out the state on the side of its cabs? And more importantly, did no one who worked on this major network show notice that they spelled it wrong? No key grip, no editor, nobody noticed? I need to get employed as a TV/film industry copy editor.
