May you all have the best possible or at least healthiest possible (at my age the same thing) new year. I am posting this now because there's no way in hell I'm good for more than two hours more. I've reached the time where we have our champagne before dinner. It was butterflied leg of lamb with lots of rosemary, baked potato and broccoli with a real good Burgundy. Tomorrow the New Year fast begins, but for now, one more glass of whiskey before nodding off.

I made salmon in a garlic butter sauce. It was good.

Happy 2024!

Chicken enchiladas verdes and a Dos Equis Amber. We're night owls, we'll make midnight.

Wishing a safe, healthy and prosperous New Year to all.

Half a barbecued chicken with white sauce from what used to be a very good restaurant but now has you pay in advance at the counter with indifferent service to match any McBurger emporium. Still expecting you to go 20 percent or better on the tab natch.

with 3 slices of American, sour cream and lots of Parmesan.

Have half a bottle of Balvenie but unlikely to make it to midnight.
Next time you make salmon like that, try a polenta, maybe with goat cheese in it, as your starch. I had it first like that at this fancy restaurant back in my ol' stomping grounds, but that was a helluva meal. (Also ... they topped the salmon with a coleslaw that was heavy on the crawfish.)

Shrimp, crab legs, rock lobster tails, fried potatoes and broccoli. Dinner at home with my parents and a couple of friends. My wife and my youngest went to bed at 9:30. Oldest and friends have left. My parents are plopped on my couch playing with their phones as the Packers/Vikings game is on. They may or may not stay up.

Otherwise, I’ll debate staying up to midnight. Happy New Year to y’all. May 2024 be a good one for all of us.

Charcuterie plate. Glass of nice scotch. Home. Long, long gone are the days of wanting to be with the masses or at a party. But I’ve never been a huge NYE person. This setup makes me perfectly happy.

My wife bought be a hot sauce sampler for Christmas, so I put some wings on the smoker this afternoon, and we gave them all a test drive for supper.

Hoppin' John and a good Cabernet.
After that, buffalo chicken dip and a good Coke Zero.

After that, dunno what's next, but I hope I make it to midnight before the oncoming facepla
