Today is the 146th birthday of my home and native land. In celebration of Canuck ingenuity I offer you this: http://mentalfloss.com/article/51467/19-things-you-might-not-know-were-invented-canada

Have a great day, fellow Canucks! :)

Rock on, Canada.

And one of Molson's best ads ever. So famous that they did the ad LIVE at a Blue Jays game

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canuckistanis here!

And the etymology of the word 'hoser': http://mentalfloss.com/article/51399/where-does-word-hoser-come

Happy Birthday Canada

Please treat our Father of Confederation Sir John A. MacDonald with respect and have a drink or ten.

2013 marks the 170th year of my father's side moving here from Scotland. That was 24 years before Confederation.

I gave a hug to my son in celebration. He may have been born in America, but he was conceived in the Great White North. #tmimonday #hashtagsonsj

Oddly enough, was watching a Hallmark Channel movie featuring Brooke White from American Idol yesterday filmed in Canada but with a Fourth of July festival as the big ending. I can imagine the AD telling the background performers (don't call us extras) how to act...."be drunk, fat and loud, you know eh? Typical Americans..."

Always feel bad for those poor Mounties having to wear the full gear in some of the hottest weather of the year during parades.

So Canada - Here's To ya!

It's the Snowbirds, the Royal Canadian Air Force's Air Demonstration Squadron, similar to our Blue Angels and/or Thunderbirds, performing on Canada Day.

Tom Brokaw explains Canada to Americans.

And happy Canada Day my fellow hosers

... and no hockey game involving a Canadian team, so no convenient way to hear "O, Canada."

Ah well ... all the best to our stellar friends North of the Border. Hope it's a good one.

Approves.

A Toronto convenience store owner sums up the day nicely.
