Thanks, 2muchcoffeeman. I posted this earlier on the Hot Stove 2 thread, but it really deserves its own. I was just too lazy to do it.

This is SportsJournalists.com --- if we limit ourselves to one thread per sport, the terrorists anal-retentive idiots have won.
2MCM, why do you hate catch-all threads America?

I wasn't being sarcastic. I really was glad somebody started a thread and I really was too lazy to do it earlier. And, of course, I had to mention that I had posted this little tidbit first. :)

Breaking news deserves its own thread, dammit.

And Damn you, Griffey, damn you and your oft-injured body to hell. Stop filling an ex-baseball fan with hope and then dashing it with your damned injuries.

Lucky for Griff, three weeks can turn into six and he still should be fine come February. Though some could say he still has plenty of time to come up with another ailment.

Jeff Kent. Jimmie Johnson. Now Ken Griffey Jr.

Good grief ... at this rate, hockey gloves will become the accessory of choice outside the rink, too.

i once broke my hand in an office accident... ****in' photographer pissed me off so much i punched a wall. i thought it was just cheap wood on the wall -- and it was. there was just concrete behind it.

Can we get Griffey a bubble? I'll play Trivial Pursuit with him while the bubble boy bides his time between seasons, innings, at bats... etc.

Seriously, I feel nothing but sympathy for Griff. The guy seems like one of the few clean players from the 90s, was voted the decade's best player over Bonds and had (and still does) a spotless record. Now he probably has a live-in orthopedist and custom-built OR, has absolutely not shot in reaching 700 HRs, let alone breaking Aaron's record and is toiling on a sad Reds team, whose best pitcher hasn't pitched above Triple A (Homer Bailey). This is a sad situation.
