Spinning some John Denver this morning and thinking back to the weekend he died, I had about 20 drunks in my fratbro room, belting “Country Roads.”

A great memory and perhaps the greatest sing-along ever penned.

What others? “Piano Man” and “American Pie” come to mind.

Was in a karaoke bar in Williamsburg on Saturday night and the place came apart singing along to “Time After Time” by Cyndi Lauper. People were less enthusiastic to sing along with me on “Given to Fly” by Pearl Jam, but to hell with those hipsters, I nailed it.

Back in the day, it was For What It's Worth (Somethin' happenin' here...)

I went to a family reunion about four years ago and the first night, we had a great karaoke guy. He had an outstanding catalog. I did My Generation, my niece did a bang-up job on Walkin' After Midnight and one of the memories I'll cherish the rest of my life was me and my daughter singing Friend of the Devil.
