Great story. I agree with the legislation that Franken got passed here, but it was nice to see someone actually do a follow-up after Ms. Jones got her day in court. (as an aside, this is another example of why court, and not arbitration, is the proper forum for both sides in most cases). Anyway, interesting read.
 
Yeah -- it's unfortunate that the producers of Hot Coffee haven't updated the film to be honest about Jamie Leigh Jones. The fact that her own case may have not have been credible doesn't undercut the overall argument that mandatory arbitration provisions are anti-consumer and are absolutely wrong for adjudicating these kids of cases. It just makes a very good -- and very important -- film that much less credible (though as far as I know, the segments on Stella Liebeck, on damages caps and on judicial elections still hold water).
