Taylor's album is filled with wonderfully crafted pop songs. She's not a great singer, but they are her work.

If I had a daughter I'd rather that she here lyrics like this from "Forever" than the nice songs Taylor sings:

I like some of Taylor Swift's songs, but she went through a phase of releasing songs where she talked more than sang. I liked her when she filled in for Seacrest on the weekly countdown.

But she lost me when she sang live on the Haiti telethon. My status update from that night: "really hopes Taylor Swift never does a live album. Holy hell, she may be the biggest studio creation among singers whom people seem to think are actually talented. She sounds HORRIBLE."

From comments here, sounds like she was no better tonight.

I didn't mind Taylor Swift and her pop music (I refuse to call it country) at the beginning. But good god, don't ever listen to her live. Those are some amazing doctors in the record studio, making her sound like that.

You should have seen the CMAs. She was almost a full step FLAT on EVERYTHING she sang AND they gave her two spots to rupture my eardrums.

Plus, the whole, "you like me, you really really like me!" schtick is so old. Please, drop it honey.

The censors have dumped about 1/2 the Eminem Lil' Wayne song so far.

That's the good news.

The bad news is they didn't dump that whole ****ing debacle.

Total garbage.

I think what makes it worse is that she's standing between Stevie Nicks and Butch Walker. It's like if I were writing a column while Mike Royko and Grantland Rice were doing the agate page.
