I read two different stories today that mentioned college students campaigning for gender-neutral spaces. One was the story about the Assistant Michigan Attorney General. The other is this story out of Rutgers about a student committing suicide after being filmed having sex.
Until today, I would have been unable to provide even a ballpark definition of a gender-neutral space. I just read a bit of an explanation, and I'm still rather confused. Then I discovered that some colleges designate campus dormitories for LGBT students. Is there that much intolerance on college campuses? Or am I missing something?
