Apparent suicide. He'd been missing a couple of days. He'd written a couple of cryptic tweets followed by many public pleas from his family and friends. Police found a body in the water. Confirmed this morning to be Scott.

I'm actually super bummed by this. Not sure how many of you know the band, but they're one of my favourites. He was such a good writer and singer and by all accounts a lovely guy. He spoke about a lot of important things. A real loss.
They have a song called "400 Bones" that's one of the great love songs.
400 bones, crumpled in bed,
I'm the only one who knows that you're still breathing.
Beneath the blanket of another French death,
This afternoon is one I will be keeping.
The family released a statement: "Depression is a horrendous illness that does not give you any alert or indication as to when it will take hold of you. Scott battled bravely with his own issues for many years and we are immensely proud of him for being so open with his struggles. His willigness to discuss these matters in the public domain undoubtedly raised awareness of mental health issues and gave others confidence and belief to discuss their own issues."
Amen. Rest in peace, Scott. Thanks for the music, you beautiful man.
