This is from Jjobs the other day. The first thing I notice is that there's no mention of pay. What do you think??

Football.com is looking for writers to cover the NFL and college football in the West region.

Writers will have some creative leeway and a national audience. Strong candidates will have the chance to become editors within a short time.

We're also looking for a person or two to become our NFL draft expert(s). Think you could be our Mike Mayock or Rick Gosselin?

The upshot: be a part of a new national football website at the ground level.

The URL is great, but we need solid content to ensure football.com takes off, and that means we're searching for writers and editors. Experience is great, but good writing, thorough knowledge of college football or the NFL and creative ideas are more important.

As the West Regional Manager, I'm looking for people to cover teams in the AFC and NFC West, Pac-12, MWC and WAC.

I do not meet the qualifications for *that* ad.

Another personal ad at http://terrehaute.backpage.com/BodyRubs/need-massage-from-beautiful-woman-tonight-26/5718091 has this number and the name Christopher who was looking for yet another woman with lips.

The ad was from Feb. 12 - when was the Super Bowl?

On the plus, if this is really the poster, he is very "generous," and "appreciative," though he can't spell "tonight".

If the "Christopher" of the multiple ads really is the OP, I'd go out on a limb here and say perhaps women should stay away from this.

Another plus: If it's the same Christopher, this gig must pay enough to afford prostitutes while on the road.

FWIW, it looks like several of the writers on that site have strong print or broadcast credentials.

I wanted to know if it's just me or does this look like another examiner.com, bleacher report etc? The more you write the more money you will make and you may end up on the front page.

I talked to their "NFC North manager." No pay, and extremely unorganized (couldn't answer any of my questions). They're trying to "hire" a writer for every NFL team, and have aspirations of being as big as ESPN.com or NFL.com, lol. It seems the only thing they have going for them is that they were somehow able to purchase Football.com, and their entire pitch centered around that. Getting that URL is almost like a sexually inexperienced guy having Pamela Anderson sitting on his bed with a little smile on her face and having no idea what to do.

There are plenty of these startup, fly-by-night websites. I understand it doesn't take much to start your own website these days. Getting people to actually view it is the trick.

So, yeah, I doubt these people pay a dime to their contributors. And I suspect they get a lot of fanbois with too much time on their hands.

So it is what it is. If you're itching to write, go for it.
