On the list of conservative commentators who could possibly pull this off, Glenn Beck is about No. 6 on the list. Rush Limbaugh could probably do it. Maybe O'Reilly or Hannity.
The programming on the Beck-work would consist of a 3-hour simulcast of his radio show; an hour of his TV show, followed by two reruns; six hours of infomercials; and a 12-hour loop of the Hindenburg exploding.

Doesn't his chalkboard get a show of its own?

The only shows I can think of that went the low-tech route on a regular basis (Chalkboard, not graphics) are The 700 Club (when goofball Robertson was giving a class in one explanation for why God does certain things....Don't worry, Not going to bore you here with that stuff...) and the old "Sunrise Semester" shows of the 60s/70s (God, I'm old!!). But I was a kid when Sunrise Semester was on, so I probably saw it on my way to watching cartoons!

None of this would have happened if The History Channel stayed away from Nostradamus and the Knights Templar

I don't think people realize that Beck can be a lot more than a political lightning rod. I don't agree with some of the things he says, but I do think he's a damn good "entertainer" and can be funny as hell sometimes. And while he may not have drawing power with certain sponsors, he certainly has it with a large segment of the public. Thousands show up at his events, almost every book he writes debuts at No. 1, etc.

So, really, him starting his own network is not the craziest thing I've ever heard.

Spoken above the HISSING noise at the radical right-winger. When the hissing ceases, they'll pray for a Rachel Maddow or well, speaking of MHISSNBC, Keithy O. is unemployed.

If you are going to parrot that, then you should spell Mencken correctly.
