Can you imagine the US government (or even the Canadian government) putting out a video like this?

Read all about it: http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070705/od_nm/eu_orgasm_odd_dc_1

"Let us for once also have a good sense of humor and let us not start the old wars of the fifties about what is sex, what is pornography and what is simply normal to watch on television," [EU] spokesman Martin Selmayr appealed.

Hey wicked,

Tomika73 is yelling your name in the comments sex-tion. Go for it!

Nice stance. I like it. And the title is great, too. "Let's Come Together."

Any country that gives us Ludivine Sagnier (re: of The Swimming Pool) can't be all that bad.

Man, as much as I've heard her name moaningly mentioned here, I have GOT to see that movie.

Most of those scenes are from the movie Amelie, which is actually a very good and very tasteful French flick to see with a woman you love.

If money were no object, I'd do just about anything to living in France for a year, just for the cultural education.

You want to be educated about smelly cheese, rude people, women with hairy armpits, twice-a-week showers, dumb hats that don't cover your ears and how to surrender when you are invaded? ;)

Made me laugh. Gracias.

I've been to France and can say I would NOT want to live there for a year. Greece, on the other hand. I could most definitely do that, especially in Corfu.

Greeks were the nicest people I encountered while in Europe. Irish were a close second. As far as living in a country for a year, Italy and Spain would get my vote over France.

I'd go to Spain to find my crop-haired Maria. And for the bullfights.

Spain has, by miles, the most beautiful women in Europe. It was something to behold.

I want to teach English in Spain, but I'm not about to pay an organization to place me.

Nope.

Ottawa would demand the inclusion of curling and hockey.

Wonderland on the Potomac, on the other hand, would disgustedly turn up its nose at the notion of sex and demand that the scenes include clips from "acceptable general audience fare" like Saw II, Halloween and The Hills Have Eyes.

It's a bee-yotch for a North American to teach English in Spain. Because of the EU, those jobs are now held mainly by Brits and Irish for whom employment in Spain is much less of a bureaucratic hassle for everyone involved.

Maybe if I display for them a passion, like El Sordo making his last stand, those bureaucratic folks would give me a shot, so to speak.

Europe will be a lot more prudish about sex when a majority of their voting populace starts installing Muslims in elected office. Let's see if Paris and Amsterdam and Berlin will have those red-light districts and legal prostitution then.

You love Spain, but Spain is into women and has been dating the same girl since college.
Get over it.

Yup. My guess is that a splash of Moorish blood results in the women's backsides having a certain "lofted" quality that, well...sigh.

And Xan, you haven't seen bureaucracy until you've seen Spanish bureaucracy. I'd say most places would want to have a very, very good reason for hiring a North American, otherwise, why bother? If curious, look for the Spain jobs discussion board at

Let me know if you go so we can rent an apartment in Seville. I think we can divide up the local talent equitably...you get the skinny ones in their 20s and I get the curvy ones in their 30s. Deal?
