Does your newspaper print Parade magazine in its weekend editions? Did your Parade cover feature the pic of Bhutto, and the Bhutto story written in present tense (ie, never edited after her death) and the election Tuesday? Mine did. Uggh. Embarrassing.

You mean the Parade Magazine that's printed 2-3 weeks in advance so there is no chance to edit it?

Nothing embarrassing at all about it.
The world knows she's dead. The story is great insight into what she was thinking before she died and is more relevant now than it would have been otherwise. An editor's note on the cover of the paper is sufficient. This will be one of the most-read Parades ever.

The interview references her certainty that people are out to kill her.

I think in this circumstance, there was nothing wrong.

Completely agree. It was certainly better than the George W. cover a week earlier in which he's 'optimistic' we're going to have a good year.

Instances like this further augment the argument that the paper is an antiquated delivery method slow to evolve.
She was killed on Dec. 27th.

Very slow the evolve. Regardless of what the Parade honchos say, the ONLY reason the issue wasn't retracted was money.

If she had died choking on a chicken bone - that would have been embarrassing. But since she did an interview about being a terrorist target - it was completely relevant. Haunting even. Not in bad taste.
