Job Requirements Women's Running, the only magazine in the U.S. devoted to running for women, is looking for an Editor to lead the creation of the six-times-per-year national magazine. The Editor will plan the editorial calendar; manage a budget; lead a team of freelance writers; edit all content of the magazine; write articles and blog posts; source photos; and collaborate with the art director on design. The job requires expert editing, proofing, writing and time-management skills as well as the ability to work within a tight budget and with a small, but talented staff. Must be highly organized, creative, passionate about running and living a healthy active lifestyle and a team player.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in magazine publishing, preferably at a women's lifestyle or fitness-related publication; senior editorial management experience; knowledge of topics including training for races, fitness, nutrition and women's health; and be comfortable working with InDesign and other graphics software. This position reports directly to the CEO.
This position is based in St. Petersburg, Fla. No relocation assistance available, nor is the option to work remotely. Salary range is 40k-50k, based on experience.
