I always wondered which talk radio host would be the first to say this.

Well, SHE didn't really say it, she just feigned outrage that some black people say it (She and her ilk, of course, spend a lot of time venting outrage [real and manufactured] at the antics of non-white people) by quoting it repeatedly and repeatedly. Some people just like to hear themselves saying the word.

But we're not far from the time one of the talk-show screechers takes the plunge in a statement all their own. Once one brave soul breaks through, the rest will follow. You can tell most of 'em are just itching for the chance.

It'll be shocking, but not at all surprising.

I think you could get 70 percent of the vote in any presidential election promising to seize every talk show host of whatever ideology and remanding them to Gitmo. More than 80 percent if you promise they'll be tortured.

Shouldn't this thread be titled, "What should I think about Dr. Laura saying the N word?"

Who gives a ****? She is a shock jock, she is supposed to say shocking stuff.

Christ, it will be a great day in this country when people can say whatever the **** they want on the radio and television and the whining pussies who **** everything up with their ultra-sensitive politically correct drivel are told to shut the **** up.

You don't like what Dr. Laura says, don't listen to her.

Ditto Hannity, Ditto Rush, Ditto any other ****nut who has a radio show.

Let Laura drop the N-bomb.
Also, let her pay the consequences.

That's a good point - I didn't realize this asshole was still on the air.

I have to admit that on a drive I've made dozens of times through a certain part of the country that rhymes with Nissouri, her show is literally the only thing on. And it is train-wreck radio listening to her berate these women who call in. Just when you think she can't be more horrifying, well, she takes the next call. I have often driven down I-44 wondering out loud, "Why the **** would anyone call her?"

No ****.

She sounds exactly like your shrewish "church lady" aunt who's been divorced three times, for transcendently obvious reasons.

Why would anyone call her?
Because she is her kids' mom!
Isn't that enough?

And she is HER kids' mom.

Nothing she said was inherently racist from the jump. It was tinged with ignorance and an overabundance of generalization and strawman arguments, but not blatantly racist until this
You know what? If you're that hypersensitive about color and don't have a sense of humor, don't marry out of your race. If you're going to marry out of your race, people are going to say, "OK, what do blacks think? What do whites think? What do Jews think? What do Catholics think?" Of course there isn't a one-think per se. But in general there's "think."

I’m married to a Chinese woman and while there are times people ask about China, nobody asks about what Chinese people think. Mostly the questions on China are based on China’s long history of closed door policies. It is also based on the information we receive via the news. Questions about the one-child policy have been asked a bit and there are other questions about culture and schooling in China. Neither my wife nor I feel it is racist.

Laura seems to believe that asking one member of a race how all members of a race think is perfectly acceptable and normal behavior. She seems to think that there is limited interaction between the various races, and maybe in her life there is.

Her implication seems to be that everyone should simply “stick to their own kind.” If they don’t, then they must accept that they will be bombarded with questions where they must answer for all of their own race.

Absurd.

Funny. Same day the producer of "Grey's Anatomy" goes all "Blazing Saddles" at some event.

I didn't hear about it.

Did he say he liked rape?

Did he say, "up yours, N-word"?

At the table read, there was a scene in the script that had one character putting a gun to another character's head. At that point, Mark Gordon stood up and started acting out what he said was a scene from Blazing Saddles. An eyewitness says he grabbed the person next to him in a headlock (Gordon claims he grabbed himself in the headlock) and shouted "I'm going to kill you ******... ******." It shocked everyone in the room, "especially Union and Davis", according to an eyewitness. "He offended the whole room. There was strong reaction to it," an executive tells me. "He did apologize right after. Then folks who were there reported him to Lifetime HR [Human Resources] who then reported him to ABC Studios HR." Said a Lifetime exec, "There's nothing we can do about it. He works for ABC Studios."

Well, thank God he didn't have quicksand nearby. Or Alex Karras.

I do hope he'll have the good taste not to mention that I spoke to him.

All shock jocks, regardless of political affiliation. People hate individuals like these, but the funny thing is, we still listen to them and it drives their ratings up.

Telling someone not to listen is easy. Sad thing is, who wants to turn off something and miss what comes out of their mouths?

Personally, off-topic, I have grown tired of the double standard over the N-word as a black guy. If blacks don't want others to utter that word, then we need to stop ****ing using it as terms of endearment. The black community doesn't want to really debate this, and yet we should.
