Got another e-mail to add to the ol' Walter Burns Hate Mail File.
Guy writes in squawking about the lack of coverage of the local race track (on the same day we get another e-mail from the track promoter thanking us for our coverage over the past couple weeks).
It degenerates into a letter yelling about mistakes in spelling, etc., that make their way into the paper.
Is it wrong to write the guy back and let him know that he spelled "grammer" wrong?
Please let me know. He is awaiting a "responce."

It's always tempting to write back to the idiots, but in the long run, what is gained? It always risks blowing up in your face for a number of reasons, and seldom will such people actually listen to what you have to say.
I usually think in my head what I would want to say to the guy and then end up writing nothing more than, "Thanks for reading and writing."
