Dear dynamic sports design leader,
Forgive us for being so forward, but you've caught our eye.
We just couldn't help but notice your flair for visual storytelling, even from way down here in South Florida.
We admit, at first it was your bold use of color, photography and type that got our attention. But then we looked beyond the surface and were drawn to your ability to tell complex stories through visuals.
We soon realized that you are also a strong collaborator with sharp organizational skills, as well as a patient teacher. We saw that you are an innovator who is fearless in deviating from the predictable. That you are a visionary with a positive approach and the ability to sell ideas and build consensus.
Well, that's when we knew that one day we'd just have to work together!
Perhaps you've noticed us as well? After all, we do like to stand out from the crowd here at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. Our bold, surprising and innovative approach to visuals brought home 47 SND awards this year, 11 for sports alone.
What's that? You've noticed us as a visuals team on the rise in one of America's hottest journalism markets?
Please, you're making us blush!
But we don't mind telling you that we are looking for someone special to fill an anticipated opening for a Sports Design Director.
The Sun-Sentinel sports department covers four pro teams and three major college programs. We like to have fun with our sports coverage and presentation. See how much we have in common?
If you think we should take this further, email Design Director Paul Wallen at pwallen@sun-sentinel with some thoughts on why you would be a good match for this position. Then have your resume and portfolio ready to go. We hope to move quickly, so don't delay!
