she's definitely interested, dude. the hand-written note to say she enjoyed getting to chat you up says it all. go for it. no waiting. no games. just ask her to dinner, just the two of you, and see where it goes...

Are you waiting for a hand-written invitation?

Wait, she sent you one of those.

Haha thanks for the outside perspective. I've had bad luck misinterpreting women before so always second guess these situations.

When a girl says "Let's grab drinks sometime soon. Best, Girl's Name." then it means ASK HER OUT YOU IDIOT!

I think your advice here is far too subtle...

well, i understand some guys can be gun-shy after misreading signals in the past. but i don't think there's much chance of that here. besides, my attitude eventually became, 'screw it, what do i have to fear?' you ask her to dinner she says no, let's just be friends? big whoop.

Oh, that's Headbutt. A Terrapin who refuses to come out of his shell.

:D

alright so it's pretty clear that i should ask her out. now should I do drinks as she suggests...less pressure or suggest dinner?

And is it too soon to suggest something this week (Friday/Thursday/Weekend)?

Drinks. I think it's early enough to ask about the weekend, but that's a big night. Might be too close to Thursday, but give it a shot if you want.

Or say "Hey, I'd love to grab drinks next week. What night's good for you?"

Drinks.

Dinner's too formal and can come with too many expectations at this point. You're shooting the **** and sniffing each other's butts. Although, if you have a drink or two and then you both get hungry, that's cool, do it. That is, unless you're at Olive Garden.

Let the game come to you, son, but be aware of when it's coming.

Ask her out to drinks during a weeknight, preferably Thursday, like someone mentioned. It's not necessarily a date night, but it's close enough to get into the atmosphere of one.

What, exactly, were you friends "torn on"? This chick wants to show you her chi-chis.

thanks everyone for your advice. i'm going to go for a weeknight next week - way too much pressure for grabbing drinks to do that on a weekend night and kind of short notice for this thursday (not to mention I'm busy) so will try next week. will let all know how it goes.

one friend told me she was just being friendly because she's in sales and that's what sales people do...but the more i think about it, she kind of went out of her way to suggest grabbing drinks (and contacting me in the first place) so it should have been more obvious. hope it goes well - i had a great time the first night with her.
