These charges run very much against the persona Sharper built after entering the league in 1997.

Yup. I did a story many years back on his playing piano recitals. He was not the typical jock who went to school simply to play sports. Rape is as nasty as it gets, so this really stuns me.

This did not happen to Sapp when he had legal trouble a little while back, as I recall.

Story didn't give many details on the charges, which I assume will come out later. It's sexual assault, which -- and this is by no means condoning or excusing anything -- we should all know has many different levels. Could be he was a little too grabby on a date, could be he was going full-on Cecil Collins and watching women sleep in their homes.
