There was a photo of a very pregnant Elin at Oakmont with a cell phone.

Somehow, I doubt this one was induced. But it would have been interesting how Tiger would have handled it had he and Angel Cabrera been scheduled for an 18-hole playoff Monday.

I looked up the photo... the caption said it was taken at the Players Championship.. so she must've really been ready to pop.

Pssst...that would have been May.

I was probably five pounds lighter in May. Damn family reunion.

Not trying to be santicmonious (or a jackass) and I wasn't criticizing, although in hindsight I see how it looked that way. Just thought it was interesting that we had two premiere athletes in very very similar situations making totally different decisions. In no way was I saying LeBron was a bad father. Of all the people in the NBA that are fathers, he'll probably be one of the better ones.

Situations aren't as similar as you think. Tiger's been to majors and won them before. The Cavs had never been to the Finals. Tiger doesn't have an entire organization depending on him. Lebron did.

And again, the whole first child vs. second child thing.

And you weren't who I was calling a sanctimonious jackass. That'd be left over from the thread about what LeBron said.

Good point about LeBron's first Finals. That probably would make a difference.

Hypothetical question:

You are a PGA professional

You are on No.12 on Monday of the U.S. Open going for your first major

Your pager goes off

Mama's water just broke

Finish the round or hop on a plane?

Depends.
How far am I from home? Am I getting tubthumped or is it close? How does my not finishing affect my tour status and prize money?

But in all likelihood, someone else would have the pager and momma-to-be would leave instructions on when to call. Momma-to-be knows the difference between waiting nd come home now could mean $500k or more.

Home is California.....you're playing in Texas.

You're 3 up with 7 holes to play.

First prize........$1.3 million

Second prize......$780,000

My ass is home in a heartbeat. Hand the clubs to the caddy, put on some tennis shoes and get to haulin' it to the airport.

If she gave birth early on Saturday morning, she almost certainly was in labor during Tiger's round. I wonder what he knew while he was playing. And why did he stick around to talk to the press about his round?

Not sure... Obviously, my wife and I have discussed this before teeing off for the round. And I would be willing to bet, in the scenario, she's given instructions for no one to page me until the round is over. then haul your ass home...

Monday, sorry.

Anybody want to guess on the over/under of how many majors Sam is going to win on the LPGA starting in 2025?

I'd say 30.

She's already got the sticks. Nice Nike ones with a sweet bag. Didn't you see that they were delivered by FedEx to Tiger's digs? ;) ;D

Seriously, congrats to Tiger and Elin. One great experience behind you, a lifetime of great experiences await.

Given the scenario above, and knowing that Tiger is such a family man via his parents, I bet he would drop his clubs and split before the last hole of the Masters if he had to.

Great, great commercial.
