Yes, JR's son -- Elliot (sp?) -- made the roster of the CFL's Edmonton Eskimos.
Good to know there's also an Elliot of any variation with athletic ability too! :)

Nice job, Slappy. I have some athletic ability. I just prefer to keep it hidden.

Richardson had an interception with a 39-year-return to help him make the team. The coach, Richie Hall, is a hell of a guy and knows how to run a defence.

But does he know how to run a "DEFENSE" ?

Congrats to JR (and JR jr). Stand proud, old man!

Just wanted to say that he's actually a little faster than this would indicate. [Sorry, Elliotte .... couldn't resist]. :D

Elliotte's right about the interception.

A couple of people in our Edmonton office were at the game against the Riders and said he read the play perfectly. (Game wasn't on TV)

Will be playing mostly special teams. His normal position is FS.

I have put my Ticats hat in mothballs.

It's all still slightly surreal. Training camp was harder on me than him, as HC will attest.

IJAG just came and doesn't know why. And being around the board for a long time rewards one with a chuckle about this thread. But a big congrats to Eliot(t)(tte)

I think it's awesome news, and I think it calls for a mini-SJ gathering during one of Elliott's trips home.

Saturday, August 8, in Hamilton (game time 6:30 p.m.)

Friday, October 16, in Toronto (game time 7:30 p.m.)

I realize the Hamilton game is a week before the NYC trip (isn't it?) but what do others think of the idea?

I am planning on going to the Toronto game. I'll be cheering for the Eskies.....

That's a more satisfactory post, in my opinion. AKA, fixed. :D

Congrats to JR, and HC who had to put up with JR during training camp, and mostly to Elliott. Good to see him overcoming his parent. :D

A fine day for all.

Congratulations. I'm guessing it's OK to talk about it here now?
