I brought this up when it was first approved, but no one had an answer.

Six months later, does anyone have an idea how the NFL is planning on reviewing plays ruled "down by contact".

Pereira was quoted as saying a half-dozen such whistled plays that were actually fumbles would have resulted in change of possession last year.

How?????

One of the bedrock playing principles in football is you play to the whistle. When the whistle blows, play over.

Is Pereira planning on not equipping officials with whistles? Yes, that's sarcastic, but how can you ever review a loose ball after a whistle has blown?

If players are taught that they have to play "through" the whistle, all hell will break loose, I would think.

Any NFL writers on board here with a clue on this one?
