There's really not much happening at the print journalism conferences. There simply aren't very many jobs available, and that's the life's blood of any profession. If I were you I would be looking for digital conferences and networking events to attend. There are tons of meetups in NYC on the digital side. Forging contacts in that space may help you the most.
