The erstwhile leader of men needs a knee replacement, which certainly isn't his fault. But cancelling his team's overseas trip seems like just a bit of an ego play. They really couldn't survive without his wisdom for two exhibition games?

He didn't seem to have a problem with an assistant taking the reins when he bailed midway through a losing season back in 95, but he can't do it for a summer exhibition trip?

It's really odd. Capel coached actual games that counted last year. He's been a head coach at name programs. These summer trips are all about getting extra practice and game action. I can't for the life of me imagine why he thinks not going at all is better.

On a kinda related note, the Kansas trip to Italy has me super pumped to see Malik Newman in crimson and blue.
