Classic license plate

Saw one of these on the way to work today. Classic.

Other favorites: Virginia's bicentennial plate, Saskatchewan's wheat-shock plate, the Wyoming buking horse (Steamboat) logo, the old blue "Keystone State" Pennsylvania plates with the outline of the state.

I hate the way so many states have cluttered up their plates, it's impossible to tell what's what at a glance these days.

My father got a variation of our last name on a license plate in 1972. Cost $10. Now, it's around $85.

Anyway, he still has that letter combination on his car. I have the original plates and they're on my classic car (in my state, you can have a license plate that matches the year of your car as long as the sticker - or, in my case, a metal tab - matches the year).

I've always thought that was pretty sweet.

Big fan of the old, black California license plate. First time I was out there, in '93, I saw many more than I expected. Still see at least three or four on every trip.

Gotta love the lack of winter, thus the lack of salt on roads, thus the lack of something that ages cars before their times, thus enabling more old cars with those old plates to be on the road.

I've always loved peaches, hence have always liked Georgia's plates. So I was curious how long the state has had the peach on the license plate. That photo was the closest thing I could find.

Favorite plate eh? ... hmmmmmmmmmmmm I'd have to say the regular Michigan paltes always stood out to me. But that's just me and I'm struggling to come up with something.
