Any news on this one? Rusty?

Maybe give it more time? Jesus came back from the dead in that time, but otherwise, three days isn't enough time to do anything big.

Well, he did post a call for resumes a month ago (http://www.sportsjournalists.com/forum/threads/40221/), then posted on APSE. Sure, it is a bit fast, but not without reason.

Rusty -- a gentleman and a scholar indeed -- needs someone talented for this position. Lest he go raiding MY staff. BOOOOOOOOO.

I was offered the job but my demands, I think, exceeded what is currently available for compensation.
I asked to be an at-large writer of occasional Mississippi JUCO Football Circuit columns --and-- I insisted on serving as daily beat writer for the Jackson Lanier boys' basketball program.
Those two demands would go alongside my expected layout responsibilities.
Rusty said this was entirely too much to include in my package.
We parted amicably.
And the search was resumed.

You wanted to don the Scooba gear, as it were?

Hey, until the Pipeline reports it *** it isn't official.

Thanks for the updates Rusty.

I done came back from three days at a bar in Matamoros.

We'll call it even.

Rusty is one of the truly fine folks in the bidness, and his section -- well, minus one SportsJournalists.commer who thinks he is an effin' stud :) -- is top-drawer.

Oh, and Rusty ... I apologize for not responding to your e-mail querying me about possibilities for this position. Baby and all ... But BOTH names you asked me about would be good hires. :)

But would they be GREAT hires [/mizzougrad96], Messr. Rockbottom?
Depends on how many corn-fed Nebraska steaks one expenses this week ... :)
