Chrome's "reading mode"

Has anyone else noticed that Google Chrome's new "reading mode" has rendered most paywalls ineffective? I've looked on The Athletic, CNN and PennLive so far, and that's the case on all of them ...

(This post in no way advocates for the accessing of paywalled material.)

Standard response to Chrome questions: It’s a web browser produced by an advertising company that’s mining you for data. Use Firefox or Safari instead.

i'm guessing I stumbled across it for my Safari desktop either on a google search or from a tweet from a Mac baseed website. It's been activated for me for a few years so never needed to reinstall the process.

For phones you need an app. For laptop, Google "reading mode Chrome." It's just a trip through the menu.
