Berman has been a caricature for 20 years but I do acknowledge his role in changing how a sports anchor operates.

Grew up watching him in the early 80s and he was appointment television. His humor made me want to do the job.

My coming of age was during the Olbermann-Patrick-Kilborn but I must pay homage to Berman.

On a personal note, I've met Berman a half dozen times, including spending an NFL Sunday with him in Bristol watching the games before PrimeTime. Incredibly engaging, funny, he listens and truly believes he is fortunate to have done this all his life.

Caricature... yes. Trailblazer... Yes.

I mentioned somewhere else on here that I went to see Ginger a few years back when she was appearing at a strip joint north of Toronto. Was like watching Willie Mays stumble around the outfield with the Mets. Guy I was with kept going, "Why, Ginger????? Why?????"

I'll have to defer to others to fill in the 2000s. I certainly know some names, but just not sure whose cream rises to the top.

Oh, and also I have enjoyed Berman's work through the years.
