Broadcast (radio, TV, or podcast) sports talk shows that you actually like

We have the bitchfest going on about "SC6" here - and Mike and Jemele are not in unique company here at a site that has not traditionally been kind to talk radio/TV - but what are some shows you enjoy?

I have always enjoyed Dan Bernstein's how on The Score in Chicago. He's really sharp. In fact, his anti-meatball persona and slight pretension turns off some people in the market. (I admit that when he goes foodie, I roll my eyes.) Terry Boers, the former Sun-Times columnist, was long his co-host, but I enjoy the current co-host, Jason Goff, more. He's excellent. (I think he made a detour through Atlanta before coming back to Chicago.) Though the show still has a sense of humor, it's a little more grown up now. They get into sabermetrics but don't hit you over the head with it, as well as football and basketball Xs and Os that are much more interesting to me than meatball talk about, say, "wanting it more."

In large part, Chicago sports radio is pretty good.

Good point. I'm not in my car much, so I almost exclusively listen to stuff as a podcast, usually during my longer, slower morning runs.

I listen to Boston radio to help inform my increasingly infrequent blog posts. I see no reason to write for nothing unless I have some idea that has as yet been unexpressed. As for the rest, I don't know and don't care. Tiger, I can't watch PTI because Mike and Tony used to be at the tippy-top of writers, Tony especially, and to see them sucked into the hot take void depresses me beyond my capacity for same.

I used to love PTI and listened to Tony's radio show every day, without fail. Now I find them pretty insufferable. I couldn't tell you the last time I watched or listened to either.

Yes, the chemistry is there -- but they have both gotten so intellectually lazy that I find I have no reason to listen to what either of them have to say. Tony doesn't actually follow sports or world events, and has radio and TV shows to share his opinions on those sports and world events. Eventually that stops being cute.

• Dave Dameshek Football Program--Don't care much about the NFL, but I'm a longtime Shek fan (RIP Daves of Thunder)
• Cousin Sal's new sports gambling pod
• Hang Up and Listen--Reasonably intelligent discussion, although they'd be well served to diversify the viewpoints a bit
• I either love or loathe Bill Simmons' podcast depending on who the guest is.

On the radio, I enjoy KFAN in Minneapolis, particularly The Common Man, Dan Cole. He kind of goes for the self-deprecating comedy angle. Somewhat smarmy but not stupid. The annual "Preposterous Statement Tournament," a 68-handed bracket of the year's most preposterous statements, is side-splittingly funny. Vikings radio guy Paul Allen does 9-noon, and though he is a relentless homer, he's very positive and even as a non-Vikings fan, he has good energy and gives time to guys like Aaron Gleeman of Baseball Prospectus. Did a multi-part series on potential free agent offensive linemen the Vikings could pick up that I actually found really intelligent.

As for podcasts, I am a proud GFOP (Good Friend of the [Men in Blazers] Pod), and listen to Effectively Wild (Fangraphs) regularly, though it can sometimes be a dense follow and rife with hundreds of inside jokes.
