Holy! Cats!
Leach is reportedly flying to the plains for an interview, and Auburn asked Arkansas for permission to interview Bobby Petrino.

Well, there goes my respect for Auburn.

If Auburn gets Petrino, going to ESPN the next day and seeing Pat Forde has written a column about it...would be like Christmas come early.

DUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMBBBBB!!!!!!

They name a field after Pat Dye (99-39) after he gets the school on probation.
They ran Bowden out of town (47-17).
And now they dump Tuberville (85-40).

While I think Leach and Petrino would be good pickups, they've never lead a team to an undefeated season and a no. 2 ranking.

I'm pretty sure Tuberville will be coaching somewhere next year. Perhaps at a school that still has a coach at this point.

I vote for keeping Southern incest alive by sending Tuberville to Arkansas and Fulmer to Starkville.

Went out the window when Tubby fired Franklin...

Fixed

And if this doesn't smack of meddling Bobby Lowder...

An unofficial Auburn representative has reached out to people close to Arkansas' Bobby Petrino and Texas Tech's Mike Leach to gauge their interest in succeeding Tommy Tuberville if the school decides to fire him, a source familiar with the contacts told The Birmingham News.

Umm, what did you fix?
And Arkansas has a huge boner for native son Tubby.
Some would be in favor of dumping Petrino, if that meant getting Tommy T.

Sounds like Texas Tech is going to have to get on the stick, pretty fast if it wants to keep Leach. I think he jumps to at least $2.4 mill - either in Washington or Auburn. Seems pretty clear Auburn needs to do something to separate itself from the pack in the SEC. The Tech offense might be it.
Petrino was already making more than Tuberville. I don't think he's worth any more than that until he wins the West division.

Difference between Southern and SEC...

Upon seeing the thread title, I was all set to say we need to check the airports around Fayetteville, Ark. for any planes tied to Auburn boosters.

Guess I don't need to make that joke, especially now since Auburn is a bigger joke.

And Petrino can't seriously consider taking the Auburn job, can he?

And some still wonder why others think the SEC can be a total ****ing joke.

Tommy Bowden: Not an SEC coach
Lloyd Carr: Not an SEC coach
Frank Solich: Not an SEC coach
R.C. Slocum: Not an SEC coach

And that's just off the very top of my head.

It's almost like y'all sit around all day and try and come up with new and inventive ways to ***** and moan about the SEC and it's wild and enormous collection of "fanboys."

But y'all are probably right. Only SEC schools run off coaches that shouldn't be run off. And only SEC fans think their conference is the best, even when it isn't. And only SEC fans are obnoxious, inbred heathens unable to put two sentences together or keep from humping their cousins.
