"After two months of deliberation, the Big East will finally formalize its expansion plans with the addition of San Diego State, Boise State, Houston, Southern Methodist University and Central Florida, beginning with the 2013 season."

There ya go, Boise. There's your AQ.

The Best Little Conference in Football.

So hopefully the Mountain West will wish Boise and SDSU good luck in whatever conferences they can find for their non-football sports, add NMSU, Idaho and Utah State, and just concentrate on being a western version of the MAC. Not the greatest conference in the world by any means, but a solid, regional and respected one among the non-AQ leagues.

The Big mid-Major Conference

Are things getting a little out of hand when San Diego State and Boise State are in the Big East and Pitt and Syracuse are not?

Who edits the blog and what's a law suit?

Law suits were filed in West Virginia and Rhode Island (where the Big East Conference offices are located).

It's what an attorney wears to court.

Meanwhile, East Carolina, who has applied, campaigned, made follow up calls, sent cards, flowers, chocolates and flirty text messages, is shut out again...for San Diego State.

Just in case you believed for a brief minute these people knew what they were doing

Exactly where my mind went, Baron.

Remember all the wailing about how could the ACC possibly take two teams from the Big Least, and right around the time of the founder's death no less? How rude and inconsiderate and heartless and it's everything that's wrong about college sports?!?!

STFU

Is SD State at least in East San Diego?

College sports out of hand? Where you been?

There are going to be a lot of softball and volleyball players who are tired of schlepping through airports.

Big East schools will not be flying the soccer, lacrosse and softball teams across the country.

How much revenue, if any, do the non-football Big East schools make from the football TV deal?

Actually, yab, I think they are in the east part of the city proper, right next to La Mesa and close to El Cajon, which is considered East County. OK, I'm reaching a little bit there.

I guess I'm happy the Aztecs are joining a conference that's supposed to be an automatic BCS qualifier, but it seems so weird and below-board to see them join the Big East. What's more, now the basketball team has become successful and has a chance to build something that lasts, and they have to move into a lesser conference (probably the Big West).
