BBC and social media blowup

As I understand it:

• Popular football commentator rips British government’s asylum policy on Twitter. He alludes to Nazi-era Germany.
• BBC boss is a Tory lacky who bailed out Boris Johnson financially a few years ago.
• Commentator taken off the air by BBC. Common complaint is it only happened because he criticized the Tory government.
• His co-workers call out in solidarity. Backup commentators say they won’t work the show.
• BBC isn’t showing any Premier League highlights or whatever today because of it.

The whole thing is fascinating.
