Many of us use Baseball Reference like many others use the Bible. I am one of them. I have sponsored a player's page in the past and I plan to do so again soon.

As you know, sponsoring a page allows you to leave a short message above the player's stats. Some of are funny as hell.

Anyone know some good ones you've run into?

Here's Chase Utley's. The message is a little outdated.

I prefer this one, a personal message from founder Sean Forman:

Yet it's also wonderfully timeless.

"So, since Jackie Robinson, have there been any other ball players to break the color barrier?"

Some things are better left unsaid.

I actually referred to this one in a story about Eric Chavez, to illustrate how there's a perception that he's never lived up to his potential....

Hey, I wonder if anybody sponsors Brook Jacoby's page?

Dude, that's just pathetic. Who would pay MONEY to sponsor some guy's stats that probably no one ever visits anyway? What a waste of time.
