Bennett Durando switched to a different beat, perhaps? I don't know if the STL P-D has named a replacement for Jim Thomas or not but wouldn't surprise me if Durando landed back there.
 
He's tweeting from the U.S. Amateur at Cherry Hills today so who knows.
 
Also, new sports editor, though he was the deputy who got bumped up.

I thought Bennett landing back there was a natural fit when Thomas retired. I think they hired someone from Dallas for that P-D job.

But anything is possible.
 
What is it with so many people "sharing when I can" the "exciting" new job that awaits them?

They cannot help themselves from saying SOMETHING. Good thing it's not CIA, I suppose.
 
He left The Athletic for a newspaper run by arguably the worst hedge fund company out there. GREAT sign for The Athletic's future viability.

It's going to be interesting to see the NYT restart a sports department when/if they decide to stop losing money on The Athletic...
