Arkansas fans have to be insane

Arkansas is playing Texas A&M in Jerry Jones new stadium this fall.
Want to go?
Tickets are going for $300 a pop. Yep, $125 for the ticket and another $175 "donation" to the Razorback Foundation that is required for each ticket. And that's for the club level seats and you aren't even guaranteed a good seat. All it means is that you get club level and they won't tell where the seat is until after you pay for the order.
To buy four tickets, it will set you back $1,208.
And to park at the stadium, you'll have to buy a parking permit and I haven't heard the price on it.
That is, excuse my language, ****ing crazy.

Houston Nutt just popped another bottle of Dom AND HE KNOWS WHY!

Arkansas fans don't have to be insane -- but it helps.

A&M hasn't released the prices for tickets yet, so they might be cheaper. Who knows?
But in this economy. To charge $300 a ticket is just not realistic.
And if you are a season ticket holder, you still have to make the ticket donation. So if you're an insane Razorback fan. To make all the home games plus the A&M game and for four good seat tickets, it will set you back thousands and thousands of dollars.
That doesn't include travel costs.
Nuts. ****ing nuts.

I think on-site parking is going to be $40 for Cowboys games. I would assume it would be the same for other events.

And there isn't a ton of off-site parking around there either. The Cowboys have actually contracted with a Wal-Mart across the street from the stadium to use part of its lot on game days.

No, I'm not making that up.

Anybody who has been to an Arkansas football game knows the fans are insane and they will probably get the asking price for tickets.

Actually the A&M prices (the same) came out earlier.

And they're insane, yeah. Just two decent tickets for Hog faithful, gas, meals, parking and a hotel for even one night, plus whatever concessions might stiff you for, I can't even figure how much that adds up to.

Well played, Angola. On the Nutt front, and particularly on the Dom front.

For those wondering, that's where the bottle of Dom Perignon was buried for Costner, Robards, Judd Nelson and the big guy who played Dorfman (plus the dude who was passed out almost the whole flick) in the immortal "Fandango." Their quest was to drive to the border from Austin to take a swig of it, and throw it in the river.

Johnny Dangerously got me a homemade DVD of it a couple years back. Really, really good, with good use of Pat Metheny in the final couple scenes.

A coming of age movie with almost as many laughs as "Diner."

I'm going to DOM rock before I get married in June. Me and a couple of buddies are going to roll down to Terlingua and bring a lot of beer and visit some of the places from the movie.

I love that flick.

I'm still hopeful the guy in my avatar can convince his future wife to get married in the town park in San Elizario. That would be awesome.

If it involves Jerry Jones, of course it isn't realistic.

Aren't all sports fans insane when it comes to paying extortion (in the form of PSLs or college "donations") before we can even buy the tickets themselves?

Basically. My parents bought season tickets to our college team a few years back and after the first year and in addition to paying $250 per seat, they had to donate $200 to the scholarship fund. The highest "donation" (read: highway robbery) was $1,000 a pop.

And does Texas A&M remember last season? Their fans can't be happy about paying that much to go see a team that was third-best in the state last season.

Not to mention a team that got punked by a bunch of Razorback rejects from Jonesboro. (Wazzup?)
